Let’s face it, friend, this year took a special set of survival skills.
I’m not going to ask how many hours of Netflix you logged. Or how many times you only got dressed from the waist up. Or how many loaves of sourdough bread you’ve eaten.
Whatever it took to get here, you should be proud that you’ve walked through every single day of this hectic, challenging year.
And if you’re counting down the minutes to 2021, you are not alone!
But before we can move forward, we need to get really clear on where we’ve been. The first step in the right direction is simple, but often overlooked: accepting your present reality.
Here’s some food for thought I share in my new book, Now What?:
"But if you really want to move forward in life and grow through what you go through, then you have to face the ugly. … While your brain would much rather compartmentalize or suppress any uncomfortable emotions, that’s not helpful. "
So many of us have been working hard to power through 2020, to keep avoiding the negative and pushing forward. But here’s the thing—that ugliness doesn’t just disappear if we ignore it long enough.
Instead, we have to face it and accept that it is what it is.
This will help you find new levels of peace so you can take a productive step forward.
Now, you know I’m not gonna just leave you hanging with some “good advice.” I’m all about taking action.
So here’s a tool to help you manage your mindset and balance grief with gratitude.
In this video below I’m guiding you through an exercise that will help you accept where you are today so that you can take a productive step forward towards your healing.
P.S. Did you catch the super casual mention about my ✨brand spankin' ✨ new book, Now What? If you found this tool helpful, I share even more action steps for managing your mindset, accepting your present reality, and rising up when life knocks you down in the book.
It’s available to order here, and ya'll, I’m so excited to share more of these strategies with you!
Big love,
Karen
